The Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Academy has been training students to successfully complete the courses required to take the State P.O.S.T. examination to become Colorado P.O.S.T. certified as peace officers since 1998.

This Colorado P.O.S.T. regulated Refresher Academy is for any former Colorado certified peace officer whose P.O.S.T. certification has expired or for P.O.S.T. certified officers from other states that seek P.O.S.T. certification in Colorado. Please review P.O.S.T. forms 3 and 4 for qualifications.

This is a short 2 week Academy highlighting the skills training and academic courses needed to prepare students to obtain a Colorado P.O.S.T. certification. Skills training areas include training and testing on Firearms, Arrest Control and Law Enforcement Driving. Students must supply their own handgun and duty belt.

The cost for this Academy is $3,100, which includes all academic materials, books, ammunition, and the cost of the State administered P.O.S.T. examination. Credit card or check is an acceptable form of payment.

NOTE: You must complete the required P.O.S.T. packet for Certification Renewal or Provisional Certification prior to Application with HRLETA.  We appreciate your application as soon as possible once you have completed the process with P.O.S.T. and made your decision to attend our two week REFRESHER Academy. Time is needed to review applications and ensure you have all necessary documents in place.
